WHY I'M RUNNING

"I’m running because we need leaders who prioritize solutions over petty politics and have a singular focus on problem-solving."
Jeff Seeks Election
to the Morris Township Committee

I first started running for office because I wanted to make a difference in my community and to do something to “give back."  I've served nine years on the Township Committee and two terms  as Mayor. During my time as mayor I have been extremely successful in effecting change and implementing new initiatives – and I now want to take my skills back to the Committee and continue my service to the Township.

I am an experienced and effective leader who advances solutions to our most urgent issues by bringing all constituencies together to buy into win-win results.  I have taken this approach throughout my career in both government and the private sector.

Building on the many accomplishments during my time in elected office, I am committed to working to solve the everyday problems facing residents such as keeping taxes stable, controlling over-development, and addressing our deteriorating environment. I will apply my engineering background to help solve problems related to traffic, recycling, and making sure government runs more efficiently for our taxpayers.

Lastly, I’m running because we need leaders who prioritize solutions over petty politics and have a singular focus on problem solving. I look forward to working together with the residents of Morris Township to improve our community.

Experiences I Will Build On...
I had a lengthy career at Bristol-Myers Squibb with experiences in system design, marketing, and international business development. I'm currently president of a private medical device development firm.

After becoming the first-ever Democratic mayor of Morris Township in 2019, I went on to a decisive 1,500 vote victory (16% margin) in the 2018 election. I'm the only Democrat ever to win more than a single term on the Township Committee, and I have served three terms on the governing body. I attribute my electoral success to being able to put residents of Morris Township first and communicating with them frequently through my “Morris Township News” newsletter.

I'm a decades-long resident of Morris Township and I have a solid history of working across the aisle to save taxpayers money. During my last year on the Committee the tax rate remained flat in Morris Township while services improved, commercial occupancy rates surged, and many new initiatives were undertaken.
